how can i open dwg(autocad) files in photoshop to color them and retouch...?

Q. i tried going to file>place>and open the drawing file but it didn't work.i'm using autocad 2006 and photoshop sc2

A. when you go to plot the dwg use the publish as a jpg option in the pull down menu where you select the plotter, it will say PublishToWebJPG.pc3
